José Miguel, born in Torres (Jaén) in 1980. Now under his current professional name, Mike Josh and also known as Somer, he began to feel that music was part of him in 1994 when he was only 14 years, old enough to realize that music was his future and where he had his first contracts when he was already such a young talent. At the age of 16, he began residing in several clubs in the province of Jaén, and at the age of 19, he made an astounding leap, where he achieved residency in one of the most important venue in the province of Jaén (Sala Garáge) and from here, gained a reputation in important venues such as Nacional 321, electronic music icons of the late 90s and early 2000s.
Many promoters and organizers listen to his talent and hire him at the best parties in Andalusia, in more than 80 different clubs.
Mike has shared the bill with numerous top-level national artists such as Wally Lopez, and international artists such as Freestylers, Deekline (U.K.), Jeremy B. (U.S.A.) or Deborah de Luca (IT.). In addition to the best DJs on the National scene.
In 2015 he played Polish lands with his best Techno and Tech House in one of the best Techno Clubs in Warsaw, the mythical Luzztro Home Club.
Mike, due to his long experience, (more than 27 years), is a multiform Dj, capable of playing any type of electronic music from the deepest rhythms, to House rhythms, Funky House, Tribal House, Trance, Progressive, Breaks, Remember, New Beat, Synth-Pop, Tech House, and Techno, etc. Mike is an experienced and qualified Dj for any type of Club and event.
He currently continues to tour venues throughout Spain with his sets. The last gigs in Clubs of Gran Canaria, Granada, Valencia, and Ibiza, the latter where he currently resides and with his genuine musical production, working for national labels such as And Dance Music or Sonido DClub Records.
I had the opportunity to ask him some questions and share it with all of you:
What are your origins in electronic music?
My origins in electronic music began professionally in 1994 when I was 14 years old. Where the last blows of the Destroy Route and the Big Bang of the masses of «The Prodigy» sound.
With what style or styles define your sound?
There are many, the truth is, in so many years I played many styles but I prefer Techno, Electro, Minimal, Trance and Breakbeat, Etc …
What is your favorite track?
Difficult question hehe, there are so many … but without a doubt, the track that I like the most is Kraftwerk’s reissued Numbers that started playing in 2003 at their concerts and that I was lucky to hear and see in 3D in my work in Ushuaia Ibiza in 2019. Maximum madness I assure you.
Who are your reference producers?
Kraftwerk, Richie Hawtin, Anthony Rother among others.
What is your favorite club?
From Spain, I stay with my beloved Industrial Copera and Amnesia Ibiza.
What has been the event where you have most enjoyed DJing?
There have been many very cool moments in mythical places in Ibiza, Gran Canaria, Valencia or Granada, but the most special was my first time in Europe, at the Luzztro Home Club in Warsaw in Poland. «To frame»
What are your projects?
Without a doubt, continue learning, reinventing new sounds in my productions, idealizing new projects and new ways of expressing our art through the decks and new digital setups, and reaching the depths of the souls of our followers.
